Summary

Recycling Collection Operative / Loader – Immediate Start – Market Harborough (LE16) and Surrounding Areas

We are currently recruiting Recycling Collection Operatives / Loaders for an immediate start in the Market Harborough area and surrounding locations.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking for ongoing, regular outdoor work within the waste management and recycling sector, with the potential to progress into a permanent position for the right candidate.

Working as part of a dedicated recycling collection crew, you will be responsible for assisting with the daily collection of recyclable waste from residential and commercial collection points. You will work alongside a team of loaders, following an allocated collection route and ensuring recycling materials are safely and efficiently collected before being transported back to the designated depot for processing and disposal.

This is a highly physical role involving manual handling, heavy lifting and extensive walking throughout the working day. You will be working outdoors in all weather conditions, so applicants must be comfortable working come rain or shine and prepared for the demands of an outdoor waste collection environment.

The role will involve regular loading and handling of recycling materials, maintaining a steady pace throughout the collection round and working closely with the rest of the crew to ensure routes are completed safely and efficiently.

Due to the nature of the work, you will need to be comfortable wearing safety footwear/PPE and undertaking repetitive physical activity throughout the shift.

Applicants for this role must have:

• Previous outdoor working experience – essential

• Experience of working in a physical, manual handling or labour-intensive environment

• The ability to undertake heavy lifting and repetitive manual handling

• The ability to walk for extended periods throughout the working day

• A good attitude towards health and safety and manual handling procedures

• The ability to work effectively as part of a recycling collection crew

• A reliable and hardworking approach to attendance and timekeeping

• Your own transport is essential due to the location and early start times

• The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

• Appropriate safety footwear/PPE

Previous experience within waste collection, recycling, refuse, environmental services, loading, warehousing, grounds work, construction or other outdoor/manual roles would be advantageous.

Ongoing and regular work available with an immediate start.

For the right candidate, there is the potential to secure a permanent contract following a successful period of ongoing employment.

Start time: 06:45

This is a 4-day working week, meaning you will enjoy a 3-day weekend every week.

Finish times will vary depending on the allocated collection route, workload and operational requirements. You can expect to work up to 39 hours per week.

Due to the early start time, applicants must have reliable transport and be able to consistently arrive at the depot ready for the start of the operational shift.

£12.71 per hour

Holiday pay is available up to 28 days per year, pro rata.
