South Hampshire College Group is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Professional Trainer who specialises in Project Management to join our Apprenticeships and Professional Training team on a fixed term maternity cover contract.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project management professional who is passionate about developing talent and helping learners achieve their career goals. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality apprenticeship and work-based learning programmes, supporting learners from enrolment through to successful completion and End Point Assessment (EPA).
About the Role
As a Professional Trainer, you will be responsible for managing the full learner journey across Business and Project Management programmes. You will deliver engaging training sessions, conduct workplace assessments and reviews, monitor learner progress, and work closely with employers to ensure apprentices and other learners receive an exceptional learning experience.
You will coach and challenge learners to develop not only their technical knowledge but also the professional behaviours, confidence and workplace skills needed to succeed in their careers.

Duties
Training and Assessment
- Deliver high-quality Business and Project Management training programmes through face-to-face, online and blended learning methods.
- Deliver engaging masterclasses, workshops and theory sessions.
- Conduct workplace observations, assessments and progress reviews.
- Support learners from enrolment through to successful completion.
- Prepare learners for End Point Assessment (EPA) and final assessments.
- Ensure all delivery is aligned to apprenticeship standards, qualification specifications and awarding body requirements.
- Develop and review teaching materials, learning resources and assessment plans.
Learner Progress and Support
- Manage a caseload of learners and apprentices, ensuring timely achievement and progression.
- Track learner progress and performance using OneFile and other college systems.
- Monitor Off-the-Job Training requirements and ensure compliance with funding rules.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback that supports learner development.
- Support learners with individual needs, including Functional Skills and Additional Learning Support requirements.
- Identify learners at risk of falling behind and implement effective interventions.
Employer Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employers and workplace mentors.
- Conduct regular progress reviews with learners and employers.
- Support employer engagement activities and recruitment events.
- Work collaboratively with employers to ensure programmes meet business needs and industry expectations.
Quality and Compliance
- Maintain accurate learner records and programme documentation.
- Comply with internal quality processes, funding requirements and awarding organisation standards.
- Contribute to quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Undertake Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) activities where qualified.
- Ensure all training resources, delivery methods and documentation are inspection-ready and compliant with quality standards.
College Contribution
- Support learner recruitment, interviews, open events and apprenticeship promotional activities.
- Participate in appraisal, training and ongoing professional development.

About You
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic professional who has:
- Experience within Project Management, Business Administration, Management, Leadership, or a related sector.
- Experience delivering training, coaching, mentoring, assessment or apprenticeship programmes.
- Strong knowledge of Business and Project Management principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to motivate, support and challenge learners to achieve their full potential.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload.
- Experience using digital learning platforms and learner management systems.
The following would be advantageous:
- Teaching, training or assessor qualifications.
- A qualification in project management
- Experience delivering apprenticeship standards.
- Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification.
- Experience preparing learners for End Point Assessment.
