Summary

Make a real difference. Deliver medicines that save lives.

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-focused Pharmacy Support Worker to join our dynamic Medicines Distribution Centre team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role behind the scenes of frontline care, ensuring ambulance crews and clinicians have the medicines they need, exactly when they need them.

Every medicine pouch you prepare, every delivery you make and every quality check you complete directly supports patient care across our services. You’ll be part of a team committed to safety, quality and innovation, helping deliver life-saving treatment across the Trust.

What you’ll be doing

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will:

• Receive and manage medicines stock

• Prepare and pack medicines into pouches for frontline teams

• Carry out quality assurance and maintain accurate records

• Support stock control, audits, and resolving discrepancies

• Deliver medicines to stations and rotate stock

• Assist with implementing improvements to processes and systems

• Support medicines governance and compliance with regulations

• Work closely with pharmacy technicians, paramedics, and wider teams

You’ll rotate across key functions in the Medicines Distribution Centre, developing a broad and valuable skillset.

• Option to join NHS pension scheme

• A minimum 27 days' holiday each year, increasing after 5 years’ service.

• Personal and professional development and training opportunities.

• Salary Sacrifice schemes for cars or push bikes.

• Access to occupational health and counselling services.

• Award winning wellbeing hub

• Access to NHS discounts, offering NHS employees a range of money-saving deals.

Other than in exceptional circumstances, the starting salary for staff new to the NHS will be the bottom point of the band to which they have been appointed.

What we’re looking for

We’re seeking someone who is:

• Organised, methodical, and highly detail-oriented

• A strong communicator with great teamwork skills

• Able to prioritise and thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Proactive, reliable, and committed to high standards

• Keen to learn and develop within pharmacy services

Essential requirements:

• Good general education (including Maths & English)

• Basic IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)

• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel

Desirable (but not essential)

• Experience in medicines packing or stock control

• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)

• Pharmacy or healthcare experience (e.g. NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services)

What you’ll get in return

• A meaningful role supporting patient care across the Trust

• Opportunities for training and career development (including GPhC-accredited training)

• A supportive, collaborative team environment

• The chance to contribute to service improvements and innovation
