Pay rate: £25-£28 per hour shift depending

Hours of work: 12.5 hour shifts patterns

Location: Preston

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Process Craft Technician to join our team in the nuclear sector. This is a shift-based role, requiring flexibility and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain plant equipment in accordance with strict safety and regulatory standards.

  • Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance to ensure plant reliability.

  • Accurately record operational data and report any anomalies promptly.

  • Work collaboratively with engineers and other team members to support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Adhere to all nuclear safety, environmental, and quality assurance requirements.

Essential Requirements:

  • Technical qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering.

  • Previous experience in a regulated or high-hazard industry (nuclear, chemical, power generation preferred).

  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance.

  • Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends, as part of a rotating schedule.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Be able to wear full personal protective equipment, including respiration protection.

  • Required to undertake a disclosure and barring service (DBS) check

  • Required to become monitored workers under the ionising radiations regulations

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of nuclear safety culture and regulatory frameworks.

  • Experience with plant control systems and instrumentation.
