Technical Coach in Engineering
Hull | 37 hours per week | Fixed term unil 31st July 2027
£26,661 per annum
31 days annual leave + bank holidays + Christmas closure
About the Role
As our Technical Coach in Engineering, you will provide academic and or technical training to students to support achievement within the technical qualification of their programme. Through classroom and or workshop training you will aim to develop, improve and consolidate learning.
The post holder will support the achievement of students through the development of practical and academic skills to include support for student learning activities in workshops, one to one and classrooms situations. You will provide teaching support on projects and assignments set by teachers, monitor and support students on work experience and provide high quality resource management including specialist equipment.

Make a Real Impact
As Technical Coach in Engineering, you will work closely with curriculum leaders, teachers and senior leaders to drive continuous improvement in teaching, learning and assessment. You will support, challenge and coach staff, ensuring high expectations are embedded and that quality processes deliver meaningful impact for learners.
You will:
Work effectively together with other staff and cross-college colleagues as one team, respect and value each other to deliver outstanding services to students
Prepare training materials, equipment and resources for student activities which you are responsible for including a rich tutorial programme
Deliver high quality learning experiences which enable students to develop in their learning.
Deliver training to improve the technical and or academic skills of students
Supervise and provide instruction to groups of students to develop their skills and knowledge in relation to the qualification
Assess learning and measure student progress through a range of assessment methods.
Supervise and facilitate employability and enrichment activities for students
Ensure that practical learning environments, equipment, machines and plant comply with health and safety requirements, identifying necessary actions and reporting through line management
Maintain individual student records to capture progress, including maintaining records of student attendance and initial assessment
Contribute to the onboarding of students such as interviewing, taster sessions and attend open events as required
Act always as ambassador for the college through a professional approach to internal and external customers
Actively comply and contribute to the College’s policies and procedures, particularly in relation to Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities and Data Protection
About You
You will be an experienced and credible education professional with:
Level 2 qualification in Maths and English
Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject
First aid at work or willing to work towards
Hold or be willing to work towards a relevant Level 3 teaching qualification e.g., PTLLS
