The Health Care Assistant Apprentice is an entry-level role designed to provide individuals with the opportunity to gain practical experience and recognised qualifications while working within a healthcare environment. The post holder will support the delivery of high-quality, compassionate and person-centred care to service users under the supervision of qualified healthcare professionals.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the apprentice will assist with day-to-day care and support activities, promote recovery and independence, and contribute to maintaining a safe, therapeutic and inclusive environment. The role provides exposure to a range of healthcare settings and enables the apprentice to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to deliver effective care and support.

Alongside their employment, the apprentice will undertake a Level 2 Adult Care qualification, receiving structured learning and workplace support to build competence and confidence in the role. This apprenticeship offers a valuable pathway into a healthcare career, with opportunities for future development within health and social care services.

The Health Care Assistant Apprentice will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, compassionate, person-centred care to service users in a variety of healthcare settings. Under the supervision of qualified healthcare professionals, the post holder will support the delivery of safe and effective care, promoting recovery, independence, dignity and wellbeing.

The apprentice will assist service users with activities of daily living, support engagement in therapeutic and recovery-focused activities, observe and report changes in service users' mental, physical and emotional health, and contribute to maintaining a safe, clean and therapeutic environment. The post holder will undertake duties appropriate to their level of training and competence, working in accordance with Trust policies, procedures and professional standards.
