TheMedicines Evaluation Directorate (MED)develops guidance and advice on the use of new and existing medicines (including highly specialised medicines), treatments, medical devices,diagnosticsand surgical procedures within the NHS. 

TheTechnology Appraisalsprogramme within MED advises the NHS and patients on the clinical and cost effectiveness of the technologies reviewed and theiroptimalposition in clinicalpractice.

Providing administrative supportwithin theProject Teamin theTechnologyAppraisals programme. Workingdailywith internal and external stakeholders toprovidehigh-qualitysupport,with close attention to detail. 

• Developing and administering systems within the centre/directorate 

• Planning and organising activities and own day-to-day work 

• Providing efficient and effective administrative and secretarial support to team members, including preparing correspondence and papers, collating,copyingand distributing papers and managing diaries 

• Dealing with day-to-day enquiries byemail, referring to other members of the team as appropriate  

• Responding to queries, tailoring the approach to meet the needs ofdifferent groups/individuals  

• Regular written and verbal liaison with committee members  

• Liaising with a range of stakeholders both externally and internally Managing correspondence for their area of work  

• Providing cover and deputising for the Assistant Project Manager in their absence 

• Assistingin the induction and training of new and temporary members of staff 

• Undertaking continuing professional development
