Summary

12.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year - coinciding with term time

Working 11am until 1:30pm, Monday to Friday

Starting salary of £7,377 per annum / £15.13 per working hour

This role is based at Kingsbridge Primary School, a thriving primary school based in Kingsbridge, South Devon for which we are seeking an enthusiastic Catering Assistant to work as part of a kitchen team.

Reporting to the Kitchen Leader, responsibilities will include the following, although this is not an exhaustive list and your responsibilities may vary from time to time, but will be commensurate with respect to overall area of responsibility.

What will you be doing

You will be preparing and cooking meals, preparing food to a standard set menu.

Your customer centric approach will ensure that the customer experience is excellent, food service and presentation is of a high standard and that all students are catered for and treated with respect.

You will assist with receiving deliveries from suppliers, checking and stocking the dry and cold stores.

You will assist with record keeping and the maintenance of kitchen records.

Your experience and aptitude

Training and support will be provided but experience of working in a catering role is essential.

You will be an adaptable and flexible person, able to adjust to the varying demands of the day, covering different positions in the kitchen as required.

Your humour and enthusiasm will engender a successful, tight-knit kitchen team, catering for approximately 350 children.

An advantage, but not essential, is that you have a number of years of experience working within a commercial environment.

Food hygiene certification will be required; support can be provided to refresh/obtain this training.
