Summary
We're looking for someone to join our Rugby team as an Hourly Paid Lecturer in Computing on a temporary, hourly paid, zero hours basis. The end date for this role is 2nd of July 2027.
At the moment there is a requirement for 6 hours of teaching, which can be done in one full day or two half days. This of course can change with the needs of the department.
This role is based in the UK and will be working on site in our UK based College.
In order to comply with our mandatory pre-employment checks, the successful candidate will be required to provide original identification documents in person to our UK based People Services Department.

place (i.e. the College).

ROLE SUMMARY

This post is situated primarily within the Academic Studies Department at Rugby College. The department currently has around 200 students studying Level 1, 2 and 3 courses including Business, Computing and Alevels. The academic nature of the department means that the majority of our students will go to university in
the future.
The successful candidate will be required to deliver BTEC L1, L2 or L3 over one day (or two half days) per week during term time with the opportunity to increase if the department has the need. We require a teacher who is adept at teaching a range of units which meet the needs of the students. We continually adapt the units of study to ensure they are relevant to the future jobs market. We aim to ensure all of our students are prepared for university and the world of work. An ability to adapt, be flexible and also committed is essential. The teacher needs to be dynamic and enthusiastic and want to improve all aspects of the students’ learning experience.
As a department we support our teachers with relevant training that will help enhance their skills within the classroom. This includes behaviour management, enterprise learning, transformational learning and digital teaching & learning. Throughout their time at the college our staff also undergo mandatory training that
includes safeguarding, equality and diversity and WRAP (Prevent).

In order to support during busy exam periods, you may be asked to undertake exam invigilator duties.The College will provide training.

ESSENTIAL ATTAINMENTS
✓ A degree or professional qualification in a relevant area is essential
✓ GCSE grade A-C or equivalent qualification in Maths and English (or
willingness to achieve necessary qualifications within 12 months)
✓ Teacher Training Qualification or the willingness to undertake the
courses required to gain this.
✓ Strong Administrative skills, including IT skills (e.g. e-mail, the internet
and other software application.
✓ Ability to relate well with staff and students and to work effectively as a
member of a team with the ability to motivate others
✓ Excellent understanding of BTEC level 2 and 3 in Computing.
✓ A willingness to undertake continuing professional development.
✓ In order to ensure our students are being taught the latest skills there is
a requirement for Lecturers to maintain their CPD and update industry
specific skills on an annual basis.
