About the role
We're looking for a hardworking, outgoing Payroll Officer to join our friendly team. You'll play a key part in making sure our people are paid accurately and on time, while being a approachable point of contact for employees and managers.

Key responsibilities
- Processing weekly/monthly payroll accurately and on time
- Calculating and processing overtime, bonuses, commission, statutory pay (SSP, SMP, SPP) and deductions
- Handling starters, leavers and changes to employee details
- Managing tax, National Insurance, pensions and other statutory deductions
- Preparing and submitting HMRC RTI returns and year-end reports
- Responding to payroll queries from employees and managers in a helpful, professional way
- Carrying out payroll checks and reconciliations to ensure accuracy
- Keeping confidential payroll records up to date and compliant with legislation
About you
- At least 2 years' experience in a payroll role
- Good working knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE and pensions auto-enrolment
- Experience with payroll software and confident using Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- A hardworking, reliable approach with the ability to meet deadlines
- Outgoing and personable, with strong communication skills
- Able to handle sensitive information with discretion
- CIPP qualification or working towards one is desirable, but not essential
