Summary

Age UK is recruiting! With over 250 locations across the UK, our shops raise funds for some of the incredible services and support provided by the charity.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our fantastic team as an Assistant Manager in Hartlepool (Teesbay Retail Park).

Our amazing Assistant Managers support our Shop Managers in all aspects of the business, helping to guide and support our Shop Supervisors and volunteers while ensuring customers are provided with an exemplary shop experience.

Please note this opportunity will require the successful candidate to work 35 hours across a 7-day working week, including Saturdays and Sundays on a rota basis.

To ensure the smooth running of our shops, we will be conducting interviews throughout the advertising process. Early applications are advised.

The ability to work collaboratively and consultatively with the Shop Manager (A, I)

Be able to lead a team of volunteers and staff (A, I)

The ability to manage time under conflicting priorities (I)

IT literacy and numeracy skills (A, I)

Ability to fulfil the stock-handling requirements of the role, including moving items weighing up to 10kg, with reasonable adjustments where needed (I)

On occasion there may be a requirement for a flexible approach, working additional days to cover holidays and sickness or to participate in trading outside of normal shop hours e.g. shop events.
