We’re looking for caring, enthusiastic and dependable people to join primary schools across Pembrokeshire as
Teaching Assistants.
Perhaps you’re already working in education and looking for your next opportunity. Perhaps you’ve worked in childcare, sports, youth work or support and want to bring those skills into a school.

What could your day look like?
No two school days are exactly the same.
You could be helping a pupil understand a tricky piece of work, supporting a small group with their reading, helping a child settle into the school day or working alongside the teacher to keep the classroom running smoothly.
Depending on the school and the needs of the pupils, you may:
Support learning
Help individuals and small groups understand and engage with classroom activities.
Build confidence
Encourage pupils to have a go, develop independence and recognise their own progress.
Provide additional support
Work with pupils who need extra academic, behavioural, social or emotional support.
Create a positive environment
Help establish a classroom where children feel safe, included and ready to learn.
Work as part of the team
Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to give pupils the support they need.
Be someone pupils can rely on
Provide encouragement, patience and consistency throughout the school day.
You don't have to have worked in a school before.
We’re not just looking at job titles.
If you have experience working with children or young people, you may already have many of the skills needed to become a fantastic Teaching Assistant.
Your background might be in:
• Childcare or nursery settings
• Youth work
• Sports coaching
• Tutoring or mentoring
• Residential care or support work
• Community work
• Volunteering
• Family support
• Education or classroom support
You could also already be an experienced Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant looking for a new opportunity.
