Summary

TeacherActive works with a number of
great schools across NG21, Newark and the surrounding areas. We’re looking for caring SEND Teaching Assistants to support primary-aged pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, SEMH and complex SEND.
Supply work gives you the chance to build your experience, meet different school teams and discover where you work best. You’ll have support from TeacherActive along the way, and a placement could become long term if it’s the right fit.
What you’ll do
•
Support pupils one-to-one, in small groups and during classroom activities.
•
Get to know each child’s needs, interests and ways of communicating.
•
Adapt your approach to help pupils engage with learning and build confidence.
•
Help pupils develop social skills and manage their emotions.
•
Work with teachers and SENCOs to provide consistent support.
What we’re looking for
•
Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly ASD, SEMH or complex needs.
•
A patient, empathetic and caring approach.
•
The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
•
Confidence adapting to different pupils and school settings.
• Experience supporting pupils in UK schools and a good understanding of the curriculum.
•
An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one.
