Summary

What's involved with this role:

Triumph Consultants are looking for a Housing Standards Officer to investigate housing complaints, inspect properties and ensure landlords meet housing legislation. You will carry out HHSRS assessments and support enforcement action where housing standards are not met. Contract is for 5 months in Torridge EX39 2QG.

Pay Rate: £44.00 per hour PAYE

Hours per week: 37 Monday - Friday

Hybrid working: Ideally 3 days per week office based(including site visits) and 2 day home working.

Basic DBS required.

Key requirements

Experience in private sector housing enforcement or housing regulation.

Good knowledge of HHSRS and housing legislation.

Experience carrying out property inspections and HHSRS assessments.

Knowledge of HMO licensing and enforcement procedures.

Good IT skills, including case management systems and Microsoft Office.

Key responsibilities

Investigate complaints and check landlords are meeting legal requirements.

Carry out property inspections and identify housing hazards.

Prepare enforcement action, including notices, penalties and prosecution files.

Carry out PACE interviews and gather evidence for enforcement cases.

Manage a caseload and ensure cases are dealt with fairly and on time.
