Summary

An experienced and motivated Podiatrist providing high-quality assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of a wide range of foot and lower limb conditions within community and multidisciplinary settings, including domiciliary working. Responsible for managing a complex caseload, including patients with high-risk foot complications, diabetes, musculoskeletal conditions, vascular disease and nail surgery. Key responsibilities include: Delivering evidence-based podiatry assessment, treatment and rehabilitation plans. Managing patients with complex clinical needs and identifying those requiring urgent intervention or referral. Undertaking routine and specialist podiatry procedures, including nail surgery where appropriate. Working autonomously while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Providing education and self-management advice to patients, carers and healthcare professionals. Maintaining accurate clinical records and ensuring compliance with professional, clinical governance and safeguarding standards. Participating in service development, audit, quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives. Supporting student placements, junior staff development and clinical supervision (particularly at Band 7 level). Contributing to risk management, infection prevention and health and safety requirements. Band 6 focus: Independent management of a varied caseload, development of specialist clinical skills, participation in multidisciplinary working, and support of students and assistants. Band 7 focus: Advanced clinical decision-making, management of highly complex patients, leadership within the podiatry service, supervision of staff, service development, audit, training, and contribution to strategic objectives. The successful candidate will be HCPC-registered, demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, and be committed to delivering patient-centred care that improves outcomes and promotes independence.
