Summary
Part-time – Up to 10 hours a week, set times to be confirmed with the rest of the team. Overtime / cover available.
Purpose of Post: To be part of a team providing full-time care, companionship and socialisation to a 60-year-old man with young onset dementia, enabling him to participate in activities, and to assist the household with day-to-day tasks.
Main Tasks
• Care and Companionship including
o Excursions, walks, visits to museums, art galleries, etc.
o Assisting to participate in appropriate activities, with clubs and activities provided around the city.
o Helping with company and conversation at home, encouraging activities to maintain interest and socialisation and fitness.
o Taking him to the gym, swimming, cycling or walking
• Ensuring he takes appropriate food and liquid and care as required.
• Light shopping and meal preparation when required.
• Other tasks as reasonably requested by employer.
