Senior Pathology Support Worker – Band 3
37.5 hours per week
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to develop your career within a busy and rewarding laboratory environment? We are seeking aSenior Pathology Support Workerto join ourBacteriology team.
In this role, you will play an important part in supporting the delivery of acomprehensive range of scientific and diagnostic services, working across a variety of areas within Bacteriology.
What you’ll be doing
• Supporting the delivery of high-quality laboratory and diagnostic services within Bacteriology.
• Working across a range of laboratory areas, contributing to the efficient and effective processing of clinical specimens.
• Communicating professionally withhospital clinicians, GPs, healthcare professionals, patients and their representatives, as well as commercial suppliers.
• Operatingsophisticated automated laboratory equipmentand carrying out a range of manual laboratory techniques under appropriate supervision.
• Working as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team to support the delivery of safe, accurate and timely diagnostic services.

• To participate in the provision of a comprehensive range of scientific and diagnostic services across a range of work areas within Bacteriology.
• The post holder is required to communicate with hospital clinicians, general practitioners, other healthcare professionals, patients and their representatives and commercial suppliers.
• The post holder will operate sophisticated, automated laboratory equipment and perform manual techniques under supervision.
