Desian Education is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive primary school in Formby for a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 PPA Teacher. This is a full-time, long-term position offering the opportunity to become an integral part of the school community and make a lasting impact on pupils' learning and development.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality PPA cover across Key Stage 1, ensuring continuity of learning while supporting teachers with their allocated planning, preparation, and assessment time. This role offers the opportunity to work across a range of KS1 classes, building positive relationships with pupils and staff while delivering engaging and effective lessons.
📘 The Role
• Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons across KS1 classes during PPA cover
• Ensure continuity of learning and maintain high expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour
• Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
• Adapt confidently to teaching different year groups within KS1
• Follow school planning and policies to ensure consistency across classes
• Monitor pupil engagement and provide appropriate support and challenge
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to achieve the best outcomes for pupils
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school community
✅ The Ideal Candidate
• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Has a Full Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or is willing to obtain one)
• Experience teaching within KS1
• Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective teaching practices
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Able to confidently teach across different KS1 year groups
• Passionate about raising attainment and supporting children's development
• Reliable, professional, and able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
💷 Pay Rates
• M1-M6: £120 - £232 per day, depending on experience and pay scale
