Summary

At Everyturn Mental Health, we're proud to be delivering Woodland House, our CQC-registered residential mental health service in Beckenham, developed in partnership with South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. This represents an exciting chapter in Everyturn's journey as we expand our services into London.Our 12-14 bed, clinically led community rehabilitation service supports people with complex mental health needs in a safe, therapeutic and recovery-focused environment, with 24/7 clinical support.We're looking for a Peer Support Worker to join our team and use their lived experience of mental health recovery to inspire hope, build confidence and support residents as they move towards greater independence. About the role:Many of the people we support are transitioning from prolonged inpatient admissions and may face challenges around confidence, social inclusion, independence and reconnecting with their communities.As a Peer Support Worker, you'll provide one-to-one and group support, sharing your lived experience in a safe and purposeful way to help residents see what's possible in their own recovery journey. You'll work alongside people to identify strengths, achieve personal goals, access community opportunities and develop the skills needed for more independent living. This role is primarily Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, although occasional evening and weekend working will be required. Enhanced rates are paid for eligible evening and weekend work.What you'll be doing:Using your lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery to provide hope, encouragement and peer support. Building trusting relationships based on empathy, mutual respect and shared understanding. Supporting residents to develop confidence, independence and self-management skills.Helping people identify strengths, set personal goals and progress their recovery plans.Supporting access to meaningful activities, local services and community resources.Encouraging social inclusion and helping residents build supportive networks.Advocating for residents and ensuring their voices are heard.Working closely with colleagues and external partners to support positive recovery outcomes.About you: We're looking for someone with:Personal lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery and a willingness to use this experience to support others.A strong belief in recovery, empowerment and people's ability to grow and achieve their goals.Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.A compassionate, person-centred approach.An understanding of appropriate peer support boundaries and reflective practice.The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Basic IT skills and a commitment to ongoing learning and development.It would be great if you had: Lived experience of long-term inpatient mental health care or rehabilitation services.Experience of co-existing mental health and substance use challenges.Peer Support Worker, WRAP or other recovery-focused training.Successful candidates will benefit from access to a well-established Peer Support Network through our partnership with South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, including:Free 8-day Peer Worker Training programmeCentral Peer Team inductionMonthly peer mentoringMonthly Professional Peer Worker ForumsQuarterly away daysOpportunities to connect with peer workers across local community and inpatient servicesAccess to peer support resources and monthly newslettersThis is a unique opportunity to join a developing rehabilitation service where lived experience is valued and recognised as a vital part of recovery.
