Summary

Join Nottinghamshire Police’s expanding Information Services team and help shape cloud technology that supports operational policing across the county.

Nottinghamshire Police has recently invested in the people and structure of its Information Services team.

We provide technology and IT services that directly support operational policing. Our work ranges from the equipment frontline officers use to make decisions on the street to data and analytics, 999 and 101 control room services, and technology for digital investigations.

Information Services is central to enabling modern policing. This role sits within the Innovations team, which forms part of Information Services’ Digital Solutions Delivery function.

Cloud computing is central to how Nottinghamshire Police modernises and consolidates its IT infrastructure, automates workloads and develops the next generation of digital services.

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to lead the strategy, design, development and implementation of large-scale cloud projects. You will bring a strong understanding of emerging technologies, platforms and applications and use that knowledge to help the organisation operate securely and efficiently. Your key responsibilities will include:

Provide guidance, leadership and mentoring to help colleagues build their cloud capability.

Maintain application performance, availability and scalability while upholding high standards of code quality and solution design.

Manage cloud environments in accordance with organisational security policies and standards.

Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, resolve and document problems, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.

Support teams to adopt new cloud-based initiatives, providing training where needed.

Apply strong problem-solving skills to anticipate, identify and resolve issues before they affect operational service delivery.

You will collaborate with IT professionals and teams across the organisation to ensure our cloud services are secure, resilient, scalable and aligned with the needs of the organisation and the communities we serve.

You will work closely with the Business Engagement team to understand requirements and design bespoke solutions. Security will be central to your work, and you will design solutions to identify and mitigate risks and threats from the outset.

We use technology to support and improve policing services for communities across Nottinghamshire. You will join a collaborative Information Services team, with access to hybrid working and continued investment in your professional development, accreditation and training.
