About the role:

The technical officer provides specialist technical advice and support to ensure services are delivered effectively, safely and in compliance with relevant legislation, policies and standards in particular mainly in relation to private water supplies and cemeteries. The role involves collecting samples investigating issues, analysing information, liaising with stakeholders and maintaining accurate records

An Environmental Protection Technical Officer should possess strong investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret legislation and technical guidance. Effective communication, attention to detail and sound judgement are essential when engaging with residents, businesses and partner agencies. A passion

for protecting public health and the environment, improving local communities, reducing pollution, and promoting sustainable practices is vital, alongside a commitment to professionalism, fairness and continuous learning.

What you will do:

They will be arranging and collecting private water samples. Interpreting the results and informing the supply owners what work is required.

Liasing with funeral directors and the highways department to ensure that burials occur efficiently and on time within our cemeteries.

Assisting in arrangements of public health funerals
