Summary

Accurately dispense prescriptions in accordance with legal requirements, practice protocols, and clinical guidelines. Receive, process, and issue prescriptions to patients, ensuring correct labelling, dosage instructions, and patient details. Maintain accurate and up to date dispensary records and stock control, including ordering, receiving, and storing medications appropriately. Check expiry dates and rotate stock in accordance with dispensary procedures. Process repeat prescriptions efficiently, liaising with clinical staff where necessary. Provide patients with clear information and advice regarding their medication, escalating queries to a clinician where appropriate. Operate and maintain dispensary equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures. Comply with all relevant legislation, including the Medicines Act, Health and Safety regulations, and NHS dispensing standards. Maintain strict confidentiality at all times in relation to patient information and all practice matters, in accordance with the Data Protection Act, Caldicott Guidelines, and NHS confidentiality policies. Participate in clinical audits, dispensary reviews, and continuing professional development as required. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post as reasonably requested by management.
