Long Term Futures are recruiting a motivated and dependable Primary Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Newham.
You will work alongside the class teacher to support pupils across Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2. This will include helping children remain engaged in lessons, providing individual and small-group support, and contributing to a calm and positive classroom environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their experience within primary education and secure a consistent, long-term position.
The Role
- Support pupils during lessons and classroom activities
- Deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions
- Help children develop their confidence, independence and engagement
- Adapt your support to meet different learning needs
- Assist pupils who may require additional academic or pastoral support
- Promote positive behaviour and reinforce classroom expectations
- Prepare learning materials and help maintain an organised classroom
- Share relevant feedback with teachers regarding pupil progress and wellbeing
The Ideal Candidate
- Has experience working with children in a school, nursery, tutoring, childcare, youth work or coaching setting
- Is enthusiastic about supporting children's education and development
- Communicates confidently with pupils and school staff
- Brings a patient, encouraging and proactive approach
- Can work effectively as part of a classroom team
- Holds GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above, or an equivalent qualification
- Is available full-time and able to commit to a long-term placement
Experience supporting pupils with SEN, including autism, ADHD or speech and language needs, would be beneficial but is not essential.
