Long Term Futures is recruiting an experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Hammersmith & Fulham.
Previous school-based EYFS experience is essential for this position. The school needs someone who already understands the pace and expectations of an Early Years classroom and can confidently support learning from day one.
You'll work alongside the class teacher to help children develop strong foundations in phonics, early literacy, numeracy, communication and social development, while making purposeful use of learning through play.
The Role
- Support children throughout the EYFS classroom
- Lead small-group phonics, reading and early maths activities
- Support adult-led learning and continuous provision
- Encourage communication, vocabulary and language development
- Use play and questioning to extend children's learning
- Support children's independence and emotional development
- Observe learning and provide feedback on pupil progress
- Help maintain an engaging indoor and outdoor learning environment
- Provide additional support where children are working below expected developmental levels
What We're Looking For
- Previous EYFS experience within a primary school is essential
- Strong understanding of the EYFS Framework
- Experience supporting phonics and early reading
- Good understanding of early childhood development
- Confident leading activities independently with small groups
- Proactive - able to spot where support is needed without waiting for direction
- Warm, patient and able to build positive relationships with young children
