Summary

The purpose of the Performance, Assurance and Evidence (PAE) team is to oversee the performance of ministerial departments and public bodies in understanding and reducing the impact of fraud.

The team does this by monitoring the performance of public sector organisations, maintaining the evidence base for counter fraud and undertaking a range of assurance and review activities on behalf of the Public Sector Fraud Authority (PSFA).

This is an outward facing role working closely with a range of partners, both across the PSFA and in ministerial departments and public bodies.

Working within an enthusiastic, friendly and diverse team you will support the work of the PSFA. This role within the PAE Team will cover a number of counter fraud products, supplemented by short term projects.

PAE Counter Fraud Insights Leads are responsible for leading on the collation, validation and assurance of counter fraud performance reporting data, which is frequently used to inform published communication products and reports across the whole of the PSFA and the Government Counter Fraud Function.

This role will offer significant exposure to working across the Counter Fraud Function and will suit someone who is confident working with a range of senior leaders, both internally and externally, as well as part of a team, and who will apply a flexible and agile approach whilst working to multiple deadlines and competing priorities.

As part of this role, you will:

Be responsible for the collation and review of fraud and error performance reporting data submitted to the PSFA, including information provided by departments and public bodies through for example their Consolidated Data Returns (CDR), Counter Fraud Action Plans and High Fraud Risks.
Work collaboratively with stakeholders, both internal and external, in order to both understand and help define counter fraud performance metrics and the reporting requirements against those metrics.
Support the PSFA’s Performance Leads to be able to confidently engage with and understand different forms of counter fraud performance data. This will include supporting Performance Leads to interpret and communicate counter fraud performance data for their organisations.
Work collaboratively with Project and Product teams to enable them to measure and assess outcomes (for example, what good looks like and how it will be measured)
Know how and when to use your initiative to work independently, but still know when to seek guidance when necessary.
Be adaptable in applying analysis techniques and tools across a range of different products, including at times making assessments to Performance Leads on how best to collect and collate counter fraud reporting data.
Be able to interpret both data and narrative from a variety of sources, with attention to detail.
Embrace continuous improvement and support the management of projects with good organisation and prioritisation skills.
