Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for an experienced Student Support Mentor to promote positive behaviour across the school. You will guide students and staff, ensuring that a calm and respectful environment is fostered, helping to maximise the potential of every pupil.

Key Responsibilities:

• To promote and provide support for all students at The Link School as required.

• To support and work with staff, parents and other agencies to support all students as required.

• To work with students, staff, parents and other agencies form other educational settings as part of The Link School’s outreach & support offer

• The Student Support Mentor will be responsible for the supporting the smooth day to day running of the school, including supervising students who are not attending their normal lessons for a variety of reasons and being a visible presence around the school to support a positive learning environment.

Key Requirements:

• General level of education: GCSE

• Understanding/Knowledge of Children with Special Education Needs

• Ability to adapt activities to learners changing motivation and interest levels

• Understanding of safeguarding practice within a school environment

• Observe pupil learning behaviour and report observations to the teacher
