The Role
In this exciting 2 year ‘hands-on’ practical programme you will develop the skills and knowledge needed to begin a career as a Groundworker within the water industry, while working towards your Groundworker Level 2 qualification.
Working alongside our experienced teams supporting South West Water, you will learn how to safely prepare and set up sites, locate and protect existing utilities, carry out excavations and support work on water mains and service pipes.
On site, you will gain practical experience in digging and excavating, preparing work areas and safely operating and maintaining a range of tools and equipment. You will also learn the importance of working safely and efficiently while providing an essential service to local communities.
As part of your apprenticeship, you will combine practical experience on site with structured training, giving you the skills and knowledge you need to successfully complete your apprenticeship and build your career with Clancy.

You must be at least 18 and have lots of enthusiasm, motivation, a great attitude and an eagerness to learn.
A strong desire and happiness to work outside in all weather conditions (we’ll provide protective clothing), in a physically active role.
You’ll also need to be comfortable working as part of a team and committed to learning how to work safely while delivering an essential service to our customers and communities.
