Summary

Development Control Engineer needed in Barnet

This is a temporary role and the rate is £25.41ph PAYE

The reference number is: OR116468

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in assessing the transport and highway implications of new development, providing clear, robust and timely technical advice on planning applications, and ensuring that appropriate mitigation measures are secured from developers.

They will manage a diverse caseload of development‑related highway agreements and applications, including Section 38, Section 278, Section 184 and associated licences, reviewing designs, construction details and technical submissions to ensure full compliance with current standards, policies and specifications. They will negotiate effectively with developers and legal representatives, oversee the delivery and adoption of new highway infrastructure, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support sustainable growth, protect the highway asset and contribute to a high‑performing development management service.
