Summary

Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher to join a large, impressive and well-resourced school in Harlow, supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.

Trial Days & Informal Visits

Trial days and informal site visits are now being arranged.

This gives interested teachers the opportunity to visit the school, meet the team, see the facilities and get a feel for the environment before making a commitment.

The school is keen to meet teachers who are genuinely interested in developing a long-term career within SEND/SEMH education.

The Role

As a Primary Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons across a broad curriculum, adapting teaching to meet the individual needs, abilities and EHCP outcomes of pupils.

You will work closely with Teaching Assistants, support staff and the wider school team to create a positive and structured learning environment.

The role would suit an experienced Primary Teacher who enjoys personalised teaching, building relationships and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across the curriculum

Teach pupils with a range of SEND and SEMH needs

Adapt teaching, resources and activities to individual abilities

Work towards pupils' EHCP outcomes and individual learning targets

Create a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment

Build strong and trusting relationships with pupils

Work closely with Teaching Assistants and specialist support staff

Support pupils' academic, social, emotional and personal development

Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independence

Monitor progress and contribute to assessment and individual learning plans

Communicate effectively with colleagues and the wider school team

Contribute positively to the wider life of the school

About You

The school is looking for an enthusiastic, committed and resilient Primary Teacher who is passionate about helping pupils with additional needs achieve their potential.

You will ideally have:

QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)

Previous Primary teaching experience

Experience working with SEND, SEN or SEMH pupils is desirable

Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills

A confident and adaptable approach to teaching

The ability to differentiate learning effectively

A patient, nurturing and positive approach

Excellent communication skills

A genuine passion for inclusive education

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

Experienced mainstream Primary Teachers looking to develop their career within SEND/SEMH are very welcome to apply.
