Summary
Christmas is coming and we need reliable, professional drivers to help get the presents moving. We are recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers for opportunities to support Royal Mail during their busiest time of year. This is a great opportunity to earn some extra money over the peak period.
The Role:
This is class 1 trunking work, delivering mail and parcels from Royal Mail’s Stoke depot to other Royal Mail sites nationwide. There is manual handling on some duties, loading yorks (cages) on and off, but this isn’t on all duties. Training is provided to ensure you are safe and efficient from day 1.
Shifts available:
We offer a wide range of shift options - whether you're looking for occasional days, part-time hours, weekend work, or a full-time schedule, we can tailor shifts to suit your availability. We have start times across all hours however afternoons, nights and weekends are particularly busy. Most drivers average 10-12 hours per shift. shifts are allocated every Thursday for the following week, including start and planned finish time, helping you maintain a healthy work life balance.
Pay Rates:
• Monday to Sunday Days depending on start time £21.44 to £21.71
• Monday to Sunday Nights depending on finish time £22.22 to £24.57
• All rates are PAYE, and holiday pay is accrued separately
• Paid weekly every Friday
Requirements:
• Valid Class 1 HGV C+E licence
• Driver CPC and Tachograph Card
• Minimum 12 months of recent HGV driving experience required
• No more than 6 penalty points (minor offences only)
• DBS check completed as part of the registration (no cost to you)
