Hazelcare is recruiting caring, reliable and enthusiastic Support Workers to join our supported living team across Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Somerset.
We support adults who may have mental health needs, learning disabilities or difficulties, substance misuse histories, complex needs and other support requirements.
Every person is different, so our approach is always individual. Our aim is to help the people we support live as independently as possible while having choice, control, dignity and opportunities to achieve their personal goals.
What Will You Be Doing?
As a Support Worker, you may support individuals with:
Developing and maintaining independent living skills.
Managing their home and daily routines.
Shopping, cooking and preparing meals.
Budgeting and managing everyday finances.
Attending appointments.
Accessing education, training, employment and volunteering opportunities.
Taking part in social and community activities.
Developing confidence and positive relationships.
Managing mental health and emotional wellbeing.
Following agreed support plans and risk assessments.
Medication support where trained and authorised.
Supporting individuals who may have a history of substance misuse.
Encouraging positive choices and reducing risks.
Maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment.
Recording support accurately and completing daily notes.
Reporting concerns to senior staff and following safeguarding procedures.
You will work in a way that encourages independence rather than doing everything for the person.
