Summary

Job Title: Lecturer Machinist

Location: Basildon, United Kingdom

About the Role / Job Summary:

Teach the practical skills and theory required for trade maintenance industries. As a Lecturer Machinist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education, focusing on hands-on machining experience and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging lessons in machining, including operation and instruction on lathes, milling machines, and CNC equipment.

Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to support their learning journey.

Ensure compliance with workshop health and safety regulations.

Develop and maintain curriculum materials and lesson plans.

Support students in achieving their academic and practical skills development.

Qualifications:

A recognized teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, or DET is highly desirable.

Proficiency in operating and instructing on various machining equipment.

Familiarity with the Further Education (FE) sector, particularly in regulated environments.

Education Requirements:

Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.

Experience Requirements:

Hands-on machining experience within a professional setting.

Prior teaching experience within a UK Further Education (FE) setting.

Experience in ensuring learner safety and compliance with health and safety regulations.
