Educato Recruitment are looking for a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist school in Bolton supporting pupils with moderate learning difficulties and additional SEN needs.
The Pupils
Pupils may have:
- Moderate learning difficulties
- Autism / ASD
- Speech and language difficulties
- Communication and interaction needs
- Sensory needs
- Physical or medical needs
- Social and emotional difficulties
- Difficulties with concentration and engagement
All pupils have EHCPs and require individualised support with their learning and development.
The Role
You will support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, helping them to:
- Access differentiated learning
- Develop communication and social skills
- Manage transitions and routines
- Build confidence and independence
- Develop concentration and engagement
- Work towards EHCP outcomes
- Regulate and manage their emotions
- Develop practical and self-help skills
You will work closely with the class teacher and wider SEN team to provide consistent support.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people
- SEN experience is desirable
- Understanding of learning difficulties and additional needs
- Patient, calm and consistent approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
- Two suitable references
- Right to work in the UK
This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS (child and adult workforce), satisfactory references, and full compliance with KCSIE (2026) guidance and safer recruitment standards. Overseas police checks may be required where applicable.
