Welcome to Heritage Lounge
Heritage Lounge is a premium daytime coffee lounge and social hub designed exclusively for the over-50s community.
More than a traditional café or day centre, Heritage Lounge combines exceptional hospitality, social connection, wellbeing, and light-touch support in a warm and welcoming environment. Our guests can enjoy freshly prepared food and drinks, meet friends, attend events, discover new interests, and spend time in a space designed specifically with them in mind.
Open from 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday, with future scope to extend opening hours to evenings and weekends, Heritage Lounge offers a unique blend of coffee shop hospitality, social experiences, entertainment, wellbeing activities, and community engagement.
We're looking for a friendly, professional, and customer-focused Lounge Host to help create an outstanding experience for every guest who visits.
About the Role
As a Lounge Host, you will play a key role in creating the welcoming atmosphere that makes Heritage Lounge special. You'll greet guests, serve drinks and refreshments, support events and activities, maintain high presentation standards, and ensure every visitor receives exceptional service.
This role is ideal for someone from a hospitality, café, hotel, restaurant, leisure, activity coordinator or customer service background who enjoys building relationships and creating memorable customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Hospitality & Guest Experience
Welcome guests and provide a warm, friendly, and professional experience.
Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, snacks, and light refreshments.
Build positive relationships with regular guests and visitors.
Create an inviting atmosphere where guests feel comfortable, valued, and included.
Provide table service and support guests as required.
Anticipate guest needs and deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
Handle enquiries and provide information about Heritage Lounge services and events.
Lounge Operations
Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the lounge.
Set up and clear dining and activity areas.
Support stock control and replenishment of food, beverages, and supplies.
Follow food hygiene, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures.
Support the smooth day-to-day running of the lounge.
Events & Community Engagement
Assist with social events, themed afternoons, entertainment, and community activities.
Encourage guests to participate in events and meet new people.
Help create engaging experiences that encourage repeat visits.
Support the promotion of Heritage Lounge within the local community.
About You
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and understands how great hospitality can make someone's day.
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, retail, leisure, or a customer-facing role.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Friendly, approachable, and professional manner.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high service standards.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Team player with a positive attitude.
Desirable
Café, coffee shop, hotel, restaurant, or front-of-house experience.
Food Hygiene Certificate.
Experience working with older adults or within community services.
First Aid qualification.
