Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic and innovative devices team at the Royal Wolverhampton Hospital NHS Trust for a 1 year fixed term locum consultant post. The post holder will, in conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, provide general cardiology, , device implants, clinics and MDTs and play a full part in the out-of-hours On-Call service for the department.

This new substantive post is in view of growing demand for device implants, semi-retirement of one colleague and the in keeping with the aspiration to develop new services.

We need someone who will work well within our existing team of PCI interventionists to enhance the existing service. You would be joining an enthusiastic team. The successful applicant will be part of a1:17 weekcardiology ward weekday on-call rota when normal activities are cancelled.

The post holder will work closely with Consultant Colleagues and with the current Cardiology Lead acting as a mentor to the newly appointed locum consultant if desired.

There are 12 middle grade funded posts in the Cardiology Directorate of which 5 are training posts and are allocated by the Deanery. There are 4 FY2’s assigned to the cardiology department, 1 core trainee and 1 specialty doctor and 3 ANP. There is also 1 research fellow.

The on-call ward week will be supported by a middle grade as well as the specialty doctors and FY2’s and ANPs.
