Summary
Acorns Children's Hospice are looking for a Children's Palliative Nurse Specialist to join the team in our Hospice in Birmingham. As an experienced practitioner, you will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care with the multidisciplinary team and patients’ families. About the Role At Acorns Children’s Hospice, we provide specialist palliative care for children, and young people with life-limiting and lifethreatening conditions, and we support their families through every step of their journey, and through transition. As Children's Palliative Nurse Specialist, you will: Use your specialist clinical knowledge for the delivery of high-quality patient care in the hospice Holistically assess the situation and needs of children with life limiting conditions inclusive of family needs Work in partnership with children, families and carers, to provide optimum outcomes for each child by acknowledging individual preferences and lifestyles Support with the review, discussion and fulfilment of Advanced Care Plans for children and families with life limiting/threatening conditions Promote and support effective discharge planning Participate in the on-call rota to provide telephone clinical support, out of hours, across Acorns hospice sites and community teams About You Registered Nurse Non-medical prescriber (or willing to undertake) Relevant experience in palliative care Clinical leadership skills Nursing assessment skills What We Offer £42,330 to £48,177 per annum 37.5 hours per week Based in Acorns in Birmingham Hospice (B29 6HZ) Employee discounts from leading retailers – including the Blue Light Card Discounts on refurbished tech Health cash plan Gym membership and equipment discount scheme Bike2Work scheme - save up to 42% on bikes and equipment Wellbeing, legal and financial support Career development through our Acorns Academy offering leadership, coaching, fundraising, clinical training and more.
