Summary

Cole & Yates Recruitment is working with a successful and award-winning commercial landscape construction and maintenance contractor to recruit a SHEQ Manager. The business delivers hard and soft landscaping schemes, maintenance services and specialist features across ground-level, podium and roof-terrace environments.

This is a practical, hands-on role within a substantial company delivering projects across London and the South of England. You will provide Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality advice and support across the full project lifecycle, from tender and pre-construction through mobilisation, construction, handover and ongoing maintenance.

Main duties

Provide practical SHEQ advice to Directors, managers, employees, contractors and project teams.

Review, maintain and improve SHEQ policies, procedures, RAMS, inspection systems and the Integrated Management System.

Carry out project and maintenance inspections and audits, investigate incidents and ensure corrective actions are completed.

Advise on CDM 2015 duties, Principal Contractor arrangements, contractor competence and project assurance.

Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, including audits, evidence, surveillance, recertification and non-conformity close-out.

Maintain environmental, sustainability and quality arrangements and administer Constructionline and other compliance portals.

Maintain training, competence and CPD records and deliver SHEQ training and communications.

Line manage and develop a SHE Apprentice, providing structured mentoring, coaching and supervised practical experience.

Raise non-conformities, require corrective action and stop any activity presenting an immediate or serious risk.

Pay and benefits

Salary of £55,000 - £65,000 per year, depending on experience.

25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.

Hybrid working, with a minimum of one day each week at the office near Slough.

Business travel expenses paid for regular project-site travel across London and the South of England.
