HGV TECHNICIAN
Location: Reading
Salary: £47,000 to £49,000 DOE + Overtime
Hours: Monday-Friday plus alternating Saturday mornings
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Are you an experienced HGV Technician looking for a stable, long-term opportunity with a company that values technical expertise, teamwork and career development?
The Role
·Carrying out inspections, servicing and repairs on HGVs
·Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults
·Preparing vehicles for annual MOT testing
·Identifying vehicle defects and carrying out appropriate repairs
·Completing warranty work when required
·Maintaining accurate service records, job cards and workshop documentation
·Providing roadside assistance when required and safe to do so
·Working efficiently to agreed deadlines and maintaining vehicle availability
·Following all health and safety procedures, risk assessments and safe working practices
·Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop environment
What We're Looking For
·City & Guilds 3, NVQ Level 3 HGV Maintenance, or equivalent
·Candidates with significant relevant HGV maintenance experience will also be considered
·Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
·Good knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
·Previous experience working on HGVs or commercial vehicles
·Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures
·Good communication and teamwork skills
·HGV Class 2 licence or above would be advantageous
