Contract: Permanent
Salary: Grade 5 & 6 (Progressive Grade)
Location: GMFRS Fire Service Headquarters, Swinton and GMCA Tootal Buildings, Manchester city centre
Interviews: Week commencing 19th October 2026
About the role
This is a great opportunity to play an important part in shaping how colleagues across the Greater Manchester Combined Authority learn, develop and grow. As Learning and Development Advisor, you will support the design, coordination and evaluation of learning activity that helps our people build the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to deliver high-quality services for Greater Manchester.
You will help to plan and deliver key learning and development priorities, including training needs analysis, professional development activity, and learning solutions that respond to organisational needs. Working closely with colleagues and stakeholders, you will provide well-organised, customer-focused support to ensure learning is accessible, relevant and delivered effectively across different areas of the organisation.
About you
You will be someone who enjoys helping people learn, develop and feel confident in their role. You will understand how effective learning and development can support individuals and teams to perform well, and you will bring a thoughtful, practical approach to planning, coordinating and improving learning activity.
You will be organised, proactive and confident working with a range of colleagues and stakeholders. You will be comfortable managing competing priorities, using feedback and information to shape activity, and making sure learning is accessible, relevant and well delivered. Just as importantly, you will bring a collaborative approach, good judgement and a genuine interest in creating positive learning experiences that make a difference.
