An established and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Kidderminster is looking for an experienced
Lead Bookkeeper to join their team. This is a key role within the practice, giving you the opportunity to manage a varied portfolio of clients, take ownership of their bookkeeping requirements and work closely with the wider accounts team.

About the Opportunity
This isn't simply a role where you'll be processing transactions day after day.
As
Lead Bookkeeper, you'll become an important part of the practice and a trusted point of contact for clients. You'll have the opportunity to work with a varied portfolio of businesses, understand how they operate and provide them with accurate, timely and commercially useful financial information.
You'll have the autonomy to manage your own workload while working alongside an experienced team of accountants.
What You'll Be Doing
• Managing a portfolio of bookkeeping clients
• Completing bookkeeping from day-to-day transactions through to month-end
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Processing purchase and sales invoices
• Preparing management accounts and financial information
• Supporting clients with bookkeeping and accounting queries
• Working with cloud accounting systems
• Building strong relationships with a portfolio of clients
• Managing deadlines and ensuring work is completed accurately
• Working closely with the accounts and tax teams
• Providing support and guidance where required
About You
We're looking for an experienced
Bookkeeper / Senior Bookkeeper who enjoys working with clients and wants to take the next step in their career.
You'll ideally have:
• Previous
accountancy practice experience
• Strong bookkeeping knowledge
• Experience preparing VAT returns
• The confidence to communicate directly with clients
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good organisational and time-management skills
• Experience with cloud accounting software
• The ability to work independently and take ownership of your workload
• AAT or equivalent qualification would be advantageous
