Job Title -Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Location: Salford

Hours: 37.5 - Monday to Friday

About the role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor:

The Assistant Quantity Surveyor role is a key role within the Group, assisting the commercial and senior management team in ensuring efficient contract delivery and exceeding the budgeted performance.

Responsibilities of an Assistant Quantity Surveyor:

- Helping in managing costs and suggesting journal requests if needed

- Reviewing monthly management accounts and key performance information

- Monitoring and maintaining the data within the Company Inhouse Works Management System.

- Ensuring the timely and accurate billing of works

- Managing the Early Warning and Compensation Event process

- Managing client disputes

- Creating in-contract pricing, estimates and quotations

- Assisting with recovering aged debt and cash collection

- Helping to prepare revenue reports and monthly management accounts

- Contributing to the overall management of commercial aspects of all contracts, including ensuring costs and revenue in correct periods.

What good looks like for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor:

- Excellent negotiating Skills

- Experience working within a commercial setting

- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of software - especially excel

- Confident to work with an IT/Digital system led solution to commercial management

- Ability to build new and existing relationships with Clients and suppliers

What looks even better for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor:

- Knowledge and experience of Temporary Traffic Management

- Good understanding of the NEC form of Contract

- Understanding of management accounts and financial reporting processes

- Previous demonstrable, experience in quantity surveying
