The Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS) is part of the Medical Sciences Division and is the largest European academic department in its field, running a globally competitive programme of research and teaching. The Botnar Institute for Musculoskeletal Sciences enables and encourages research and education into the causes of musculoskeletal disease and their treatment. Reporting directly to the Senior Trial Manager, Gail Heritage, you will be working primarily on a research project that is part of a European consortium involving centres in UK, Netherlands, Portugal, Germany and Greece. The study is aiming to develop new digital tools to diagnose, monitor and treat disease. You will support three studies using smartphone apps and wearable devices like Fitbit to support patients. You will also assist with other smaller studies.

About the Role

In this role you will be part of an interdisciplinary team of scientists and clinician researchers studying PsA (Psoriatic arthritis). You will oversee the day-to-day running of research projects, including ethics applications, adherence to protocols and timelines. Additionally, you will provide leadership in study related matters including data queries and organisation of source files, monitoring procedures, and providing guidance and expertise on the study protocol as required. You will also ensure all study documentation is accurate and in place, maintaining Trial master files and site files for research studies, ensuring annual reporting to ethics committees and drafting and implementing ethical amendments where necessary. In this role you will support Dr Coates and the Senior Research Manager in the development, administration, and facilitation of related research and ad hoc projects, as well as liaise with stakeholders, funders and other partner organisations to ensure delivery of outputs is achieved on-time, on-budget and compliant with the relevant protocols.
