Summary

Highway Maintenance Programme Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Highway Maintenance Programme Engineer to lead the delivery of a high-profile initiative focused on improving access for essential highway maintenance, drainage, and street cleansing activities.

This is a varied and hands-on role where you will work closely with residents, contractors, operational teams, and key stakeholders to overcome access challenges, coordinate maintenance programmes, and deliver visible improvements to local communities.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate highway maintenance, drainage, gully cleansing, street cleansing, and related infrastructure programmes.
Develop practical solutions to access and operational challenges affecting service delivery.
Manage contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time.
Coordinate traffic management, road space requirements, permits, and temporary access arrangements.
Use asset management data to plan and deliver maintenance programmes and drive service improvements.
Build positive relationships with residents, community groups, and stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
Monitor performance, manage risks, and provide regular progress reports to senior management.
