Summary

Interview Date: week commencing 19/10/2026 Job Summary In this role, you will be responsible for delivering safe, effective perioperative care to patients undergoing elective orthopaedic and spinal procedures. You will contribute to audit, quality improvement and service development activities, helping to ensure compliance with clinical governance requirements and best practice standards. As a Band 5 practitioner, you will work closely with registered and unregistered colleagues, apprentices, students and learners, contributing to a positive and supportive learning environment. You will be encouraged to develop your clinical knowledge and leadership skills through structured training, education and mentorship opportunities. What you will bring to the role To provide and be responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for the perioperative patient. To carry out all relevant forms of care competently without direct supervision. Communicate with members of the multi-disciplinary team to facilitate continuity of care and promote effective team working. To assist with the teaching and supervision of learners and other staff. The jobholder will work within an environment caring for peri-operative patients. Qualifications - Essential Criteria Registered Nurse (Level 1) or Registered Operating Department Practitioner Willing to undergo training as necessary Ability to demonstrate and explain skills to other staff Qualifications - Desirable Recognised teaching/assessing qualification Experience - Essential criteria Current issues in health care Understanding of the principles of patient centred care Experience - Desirable Insight into clinical speciality.
