This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experiencedPharmacy Technician Leaderto shape the future of medicines management and pharmacy workforce development acrossLuton & Bedfordshireand the widerELFT Pharmacy Service.

As thePharmacy Technician Lead, you will play a pivotal role in delivering safe, high‑quality medicines management for inpatient services while driving Trust‑wide excellence in pharmacy technician education, training and professional development. This senior post blends operational leadership, clinical impact, and strategic workforce development — offering a unique platform for an ambitious, forward‑thinking technician to influence practice at scale.

You will lead a motivated technical workforce, oversee medicines supply and governance processes, support MDTs to optimise patient care, and act as theEducational Programme Directorfor Pre‑Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians. Your leadership will directly enhance patient safety, improve staff experience, and strengthen the Trust’s medicines optimisation agenda.

This role sits at the heart of ELFT’s commitment to delivering outstanding patient care, empowering its workforce, and continually improving medicines safety. This senior post requires exceptional organisational and leadership capability, underpinned by extensive experience in delivering high‑quality hospital and community pharmacy services. The role demands a forward‑thinking leader with a clear passion for advancing pharmacy technical services, departmental education, training, and workforce development, ensuring a culture of excellence across all pharmacy functions, including being the Educational Programme Director for Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians (PTPT).
