Introduction

The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) is an executive agency of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ). We receive over 40,000 applications every year for compensation, from people who have lost loved ones or have been injured as a result of violent crime. We know financial compensation can never fully redress what they have suffered. Nevertheless, what we do is an important part of providing justice for victims and we take pride that the compensation we pay helps people move forward with their lives.

We employ around 350 people and are based in Glasgow city centre. We are a small, engaged, productive workforce with a real sense of corporate community. The role is based 10 Clyde Place, Glasgow, G5 8AQ and we currently operate a hybrid working business model, where a typical employee works 50% of their week from the office.

The Role

The Performance Reporting and Data Insights Manager is responsible for delivering high-quality performance reporting, management information, and data-driven insights that support operational and strategic decision-making. The role provides leadership for performance analysis activities, ensuring the organisation can effectively monitor outcomes, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement through evidence-based recommendations.

The postholder will manage reporting processes, develop dashboards and analytical products, and work closely with stakeholders to translate complex data into meaningful insights that inform business priorities and performance improvement initiatives.

You will have a keen interest in working with data to support operational decision making and strategic oversight. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining and assuring high-quality Performance Management Information system (MIS) that enables teams and senior leaders to monitor effectiveness, identify emerging risks, and measure the impact of preventive controls across repayment regimes.

You will work with AWS systems such as quicksight and Microsoft systems such as Power Automate along with other internal data sources to design and maintain dashboards, reports and analytical products. You will ensure data accuracy and integrity, investigate trends or anomalies, and translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insight. Working closely with operational colleagues as well as MOJ technical and analytical colleagues, the role will help shape reporting requirements, support continuous improvement, and promote a strong data driven culture. The ability to communicate findings clearly, challenge constructively and adapt reporting to evolving priorities is essential to supporting CICA’s Performance Team.
