Summary

Project Support Officer – Band 5 

East Midlands Cancer Alliance (EMCA) 

Location:County Hall, Leicester (with travel across the East Midlands) 

Responsible to:Senior Programme Manager 

Accountable to:Managing Director

The East Midlands Cancer Alliance is looking for a Project Support Officer to join our Programme Management Office (PMO). This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting programmes that improve cancer diagnosis,treatmentand patient outcomes for over five million people across the East Midlands. The role supports programme delivery,governanceand stakeholder engagement across a complex portfolio of cancer improvement programmes.

As a Project Support Officer, you will work alongside Project Officers, Senior Programme Managers and clinical teams to ensure programmes are well organised, effectively coordinated and delivered to a high standard. 

You'llsupport a wide range of projects by: 

• Coordinating programme activities,milestonesand deadlines 

• Organising meetings,workshopsand governance forums 

• Preparing agendas, reports,presentationsand project documentation 

• Taking high-quality minutes and monitoring actions 

• Maintaining project plans, risklogsand programme trackers 

• Supporting Expert Clinical Advisory Groups (ECAGs) 

• Managing programme information,databasesand reporting 

• Working with colleagues across NHS Trusts, Integrated CareBoardsand regional partners to support service improvement.

About you 

We'relooking for someone who is: 

• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail 

• An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal skills 

• Confident managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines 

• Experienced in project support,administrationor programme coordination 

• Comfortable working with data,spreadsheetsand reporting tools 

• Able to build effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders 

• Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team. 

You'llideally have: 

• A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field 

• Experience of supporting projects or programmes within the NHS or a similar complex organisation 

• Knowledge of project management processes and administrative systems 

• Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages.

Working arrangements 

The post is based at County Hall, Leicester, with hybrid working available. Regular travel across the East Midlands isrequired, including visits to provider Trusts, Integrated CareBoardsand partner organisations. The successful candidate must be able to travel independently throughout the region.
