Summary

A Vacancy at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.

The primary role of this post will be to implement new initiatives in the diversity workstream recently developed in the service to improve inclusion and reduce health inequalities. The main tasks may include conducting service evaluation and/or QI projects; developing cultural appropriate and sensitive information booklets; engaging with diverse communities; and liaising with other services to share experiences, etc. Alongside the focus on diversity work, the postholder will also involve in clinical work, providing manual-based cognitive behavioural interventions such as CBT-T, guided self-help and e-learning packages according to levels of skills and experience, and taking part in the facilitation of the group programme including planning and running of therapeutic groups. There will also be opportunities to participate in research and audit activities and to support teaching and training programmes within the service. Being allied to the multi-disciplinary team in the Eating Disorders Service, the post holder will act as a member of the team, attend meetings and contribute to informing patients' psychological care within the team.

Under the supervision of a qualified and suitably experienced psychologist:

- To implement initiatives in the diversity workstream recently developed in the service to improve inclusion and reduce health inequalities.

- To participate in working group(s) associated with diversity and inclusion.

- To work alongside Experts by Experience in co-produced initiatives.

- To take part in the facilitation of the group programme, including planning and running of therapeutic groups

- To provide manual-based cognitive behavioural interventions such as guided self-help and e-learning packages

- To involve in short-term and discrete individual work with client as appropriate, according to levels of skills and experience.

- To attend clinical reviews and other multi-disciplinary meetings

- To attend regular individual clinical supervision

- To undertake specific duties as appointed pertaining to service governance objectives including planning, data collection and analysis, report writing and presentation. This will necessitate the substantive use of IT equipment and software.

- To undertake/contribute to teaching, training, health promotion research and related activities of the service.
