Summary

Job Description

This post is Fixed Term to 30/08/2027.

The salary will be pro-rata to the term-time, part-time hours worked.

Work Pattern:- Monday to Friday from 2.30pm - 5.30pm.

To support the development of an Out of School Care team/service, ensuring the delivery of a flexible high quality out of school care service which meets the needs of children and their families. The post holder will support the Senior Early Learning and Childcare Officer (Out of School Care) in the quality of provision, supporting best practice and priorities for improvement as appropriate to ensure positive outcomes for children.

The Early Learning and Child Care Service provide childcare services to children aged 3-5, and out of school services for primary aged children.

Qualifications:

Candidates must hold one of the following:

NNEB (or modular equivalent)

HNC in Childhood Practice

SVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People)

Successful candidates who are not already registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as practitioners will be required to do so within 3 months of their appointment.

Requirements

This post is considered a Regulated Role with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found

here.

Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
