Summary
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 nurse on Ward 7D, Paediatric Assessment and Short Stay Unit in the Royal London Children’s Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust.
The contract is for a permanent part-time role at 0.53 WTE = 6 shifts per month of 11.5 hours a shift.
PASSU is fast paced area with a varied patient profile, providing high-quality nursing care for Babies, Children and Young People under different specialities including, General Paediatrics, Paediatric Oncology, Orthopaedics, Acute mental health and General Paediatric Surgery. The ethos of the unit is working in partnership with the children and their families.
The post holder will have every opportunity to develop new skills and knowledge, working closely with all multi-disciplinary team members. Staff are also encouraged and given the opportunity to continue their professional development through attendance on relevant courses in Barts Education Academy, and externally, with City St George’s and London Southbank Universities.
Barts Health has a busy and demanding Children's service, requiring staff to be flexible in their working. The post holder will be required to work within a challenging clinical environment and undertake shift work which will include nights and weekends.
To provide clinical leadership to a designated nursing team ensuring the delivery of the highest standard of individualised family centred care to children and their families in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team.
